Welcome to the very first InKing Royalty Blog Hop! For our very first hop, we're excited to share projects that showcase the fun of the holidays - from HALLoWeen through Christmas. This is certainly the season to be JOLLY!
You may have started our wonderful Blog Hop here or maybe you have hopped (on over) from Kelly DeTommaso at Kelly's Creative Corner. After you READ my post, I know you will hop on over to Mrs. Mary Fish!!! If you get off track at any point during the blog hop; I have a complete list of all of the wonderful bloggers at the end of my post. I do encourage you to check out all of our wonderful projects. We have worked so hard to make them enjoyable for our readers.
Enough about ALL of these people. Let's talk about me and MY project!
I just LOVE HALLoWeen! I am not the type of person to make my house all gory with blood and guts; I love the cuteness of this holiday. When I received this set from Stampin' UP! "Freaky Friday" I saw this sweet monster and immediately thought of Disney's movie "Monster's Ink"! How great does that go with InKing Royalty? Pretty cool! I really think Shellie thought of Brian King when she named that set (wink).
I made this card times 2. This is going out to my sweet grand girlies at the beginning of October. Mr. Monster is so fun. I made this card using multiple elements by Stampin' Up! offers in our catalogs.
The outside of this card is what some would say is a semi-single layer card. But it really isn't; I used a stamp, punch and DSP paper along the way. I tripled punched three sets of paper to give it the 3-D effect. I also had to trim a few of the corner pieces of the punch to make it look crisp. Now I will caution you, when stamping on Vellum you have to allow it to dry. I have found that using the memento tuxedo black ink, the ink dries faster.
This is the inside look of my card. I chose not to take the DSP paper all around this card because I felt it overwelmed the look. The verbage is done with silver embossing from Stampin' Up! and I think just compliments the card perfect.
Recipe: Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Vellum and DSP Brights- Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Versa Mark, Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Freaky Friday & Halloween Street
Punch: Label Bracket
Accessories: Silver Embossing Powder, Jewel Basics & Dimentionals
