Tonight we have a birthday party to go to for a sweet friend who is turning 40. I love doing funny birthday cards in a tasteful manner. Not to mention adding a little bling along the way. It has been a while since I have done a humorous birthday card.
I just love this stamp set, Giggle Greetings. It's funny but not making fun of someone's age in a bad way. The card style I decided to use is with the envelope punch. The envelope is actually the card as well. Now these styles of cards can only be hand delivered. or put into another envelope USPS approved. But then you aren't sending an envelope card now! FYI, I tried mailing one of these; the recipient received pieces of her card.
This is the outside of the envelope. I liked how the wrapped band around the card just adds pizazz.
Card Stock: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and 2012-14 In Color DSP (retired as of 6/4) Stamp Sets: Giggle Greetings and Sassy Salutations Ink & Accessory: Menmento Black, Old Olive. When making this card with the envelope punch you can use any of the measurements and instructions you would like that is on the side panel that comes attached in the box. For this card I used the measurements of 6x6. On Pinterest I have seen crafters such as Julie Davison, make a 3x3 card and it was very cute. Here is a link for a tutorial on how to use the envelope punch.
