When it rains, find the rainbow.....

Flowers bloom because of the love of water from the sky and the gorgeous sunshine. I know there is much more to flowers being in our world than just sunshine and rain; but it's the biggest part. Rain, Rain and Rainbows!!

Nothing is as magical as a child having the freedom to just be in the rain showers! Now I know why in the world am I talking about the rain? Not only has it been raining a lot at our house physically, but a lot of life events have been raining down on us as well. We've had several of our friends lose their battle with cancer, a friend who lost her son to early in this life, and the on-going custody battle we are in with our grand-girl Lucy. At times you just have to look for the rainbow. Or in my case the perfect flower card.

I really had to work on this card. The end result I have come to love. A few hints here with this card if you decide to give it a try. Stamping on vellum paper requires patience. The Stampin Up! ink will smear if you do not allow the ink to dry first. I also learned to allow the ink to dry before putting on the pearl embellishments. That in itself took four tries and many curse/swear jar words with frustration. At one point I felt like I needed a shot of tequila; however, my tequila buddy was out of town. The flower is embossed on the beautiful blackberry bliss paper in white.

Card Recipe: Ink: Blackberry bliss, Old Olive, Versa Mark, White Embossing powder

Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss, Velum Paper,
DSP: Brights Designer Series Packet

Stamp Set & Thinlits: Flower Patch & Flower Fair

Accesseories: Jewel Packet Pearls and the Big Shot with the magnetic platform

While the sun is shining today, I will leave you with a short video of my Grand Girlies doing their rendition of "Singing in the Rain." Just remember, when it rains, look for the rainbow!
